Pakistani singer, songwriter, and producer Bilal Saeed recently grabbed headlines when he abruptly threw his microphone into the crowd mid-performance, leaving concertgoers in chaos and confusion. Video footage of the incident quickly went viral on social media, sparking discussions among fans and onlookers.

From slamming rowdy audience members to expressing concern over the singer’s display of anger, the internet erupted in speculations as to what could have prompted the incident. After much wait, the Hogai Ghalti singer has taken to his Instagram grid with a note explaining his side of the story.

Bilal shared a carousel post with pictures of himself playing to his audience at previous concerts. “The stage has always been my whole world; I have always felt the most complete and the most alive while performing!” he began on a heartfelt note in his long caption. “I forget my sickness, stress, worries – I leave everything behind when I perform for my fans.”

He furthered on, “And no matter what, nothing should have come in the way of me and the respect that my stage deserved from me.” Bilal acknowledged the unexpected nature of the incident and clarified that it was a response to an attendee’s misconduct.

The songwriter went on to underline his affection for his fans, “I love my fans and sometimes that love can be overwhelming for both sides.” As per Bilal, it was not the first time he had encountered someone in his audience “misbehaving” but he had never before reacted in such a manner.

He wrote, “It wasn’t the first time someone was misbehaving in the crowd but it was definitely the first time I gave the wrong reaction!” Without disclosing any details as to the nature of the attendee’s misconduct, Bilal firmly stated, “I should have never left the stage.”

In the viral clip, Bilal can be seen performing his 2012 hit Ku Ku from the album Twelve when he suddenly trails off and throws away the mic with full force and walks off the stage. Social media users have pointed out subsequent reactions of fans to the incident as one attendee can be heard saying “program tau warr gaya” (the program has been ruined).

Dubbing Bilal as “Cardi Bilal” and “Cardi B lite,” netizens have flooded microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) with a barrage of memes and playful commentary, turning the singer into the subject of lighthearted online banter.
