Princess Kate ‘reassuring’ Mother’s Day image ‘done completely opposite’, says royal biographer

Details of the Princess of Wales’ return to public life have been leaked as it was reported that a top secret project was being put together to plan for it.

Kate Middleton is thought to be eyeing an Easter Sunday return, when she could join her family for their traditional walk to Easter Matins service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

The reports come as King Charles was pictured leaving Windsor Castle amid his treatment for cancer on Tuesday.

The princess had not been expected to return to public engagements until after Easter as she continued to recover at home from abdominal surgery back in January.

But following continuous, and at times wild speculation over her absence from royal life, it’s been reported that Kensington Palace has called together Kate and William’s closest aides along with former palace staff members and their communications teams to device a plan for her public return.

Those involved are said to include her new private secretary, Lt Col Tom White, and William’s new private secretary, former diplomat Ian Patrick.

The news comes as pictures taken on Tuesday morning showed King Charles looking impassive as he was driven out of Windsor Castle. Wearing a suit, he could be seen inside the Bentley vehicle which had a police escort.

The King has stepped back from public duties after being diagnosed with cancer in January.

“The things that they were saying were so bad and so horrible, and she was in her nineties hearing this stuff. I think they broke her heart.”

Mr Trump also describes the late Queen as “incredible” saying he is a “big fan” the concept of a royal family.

King welcomes Korean War veterans ahead of palace reception

The King has greeted four British veterans of the Korean War ahead of a palace reception to mark the 70th anniversary of the conflict.

Charles was pictured standing in the 18th Century Room as he held the audience at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.

He met Alan Guy, Mike Mogridge, Brian Parritt and Ron Yardley and can be seen smiling and sitting with the men.

Later, the Princess Royal and the Duchess of Edinburgh will host a reception for around 200 Korean War veterans in the Bow Room.

Anne will deliver a speech on behalf of the King, in which he reflects on what was once called “the Forgotten War”.

The conflict ended with the signing of an armistice on July 27 1953 and the anniversary was acknowledged during the Korean state visit to the UK in November.

King could break birthday tradition

The monarch could opt to be driven from Buckingham Palace in a carriage as his late mother Queen Elizabeth II used to from 1987 onwards, and watch the military procession celebrating the British sovereign’s official birthday from a podium rather than on horseback.

The King usually rides back to Buckingham Palace at the head of his Guards.

King could break birthday tradition due to cancer diagnosis

King Charles III could break a Trooping the Colour tradition due to his cancer diagnosis. It comes as the 75-year-old monarch, who is undergoing cancer treatment, continues with his head of state duties – including face-to-face audiences – despite not carrying out official engagements in public.

‘Top secret project’ planned for Kate Middleton’s return

A team of communications experts and the Prince and Princess of Wales’ closest aids is reportedly being set up to plan Kate Middleton’s return to public life – as the first details emerged of when that could be.

The Mirror reports that the team of people, which includes Kate’s new private secretary Lt Col Tom White, are being consulted on for a schedule of dates for her return to public duty.

William’s new private secretary, former diplomat Ian Patrick, who served under former Lib Dem leader Paddy Ashdown, is also said to be among the group.

Latest reports suggest that Kate could return to royal duties by joining her family on their traditional walk to the annual Easter Matins service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, on Easter Sunday.

However, other reports have said she may not return until after 17 April, when her children go back to school following a three-week break.

Kensington Palace has so far refused to comment.

Last night, a video emerged of Kate smiling as she left a farm shop on the Windsor estate with William.

Debunked: Has the BBC changed its logo from red to black?

Social media posts have sparked fears of ill health in the royal family after some Twitter users misleadingly pointed out a change in the BBC’s social media branding.

The confusion was sparked by a tweet made overnight from user @FieldsLeaf, claiming that ‘BBC UK’ had changed its logo from red to black on Instagram. This was last done to mark the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The claim made in the tweet is untrue. The BBC operates several social media accounts across platforms. Generally, the public service broadcaster’s main account – ‘BBC’ – will use an icon with its logo on a black background.

In the papers today: pictures of Kate Middleton and William

Stills taken from a video showing Kate Middleton and William, the Prince of Wales, during a visit to a farm shop in Windsor at the weekend have today been published by The Sun.

The footage shows the princess smiling as she talks to William while carrying a large white bag from the Windsor Farm Shop.

A witness at the farm shop told the news outlet: “After all the rumours that had been going round I was stunned to see them there.

“Kate was out shopping with William and she looked happy and she looked well. The kids weren’t with them but it’s such a good sign she was healthy enough to pop down to the shops.”
